Debra Anditi Ajwang boasts a commendable twenty (20)-year career as a distinguished expert in legal advisory, compliance, and Corporate Governance, leveraging her legal expertise to strengthen and safeguard businesses. Her journey began at Hamilton Harrison & Mathews (now Denton’s HHM), where she cultivated her drive for excellence. She has held pivotal roles as a legal manager and company secretary professional in leading Kenyan banks, including Absa, Kenya Commercial Bank, Co-operative Bank, Family Bank and United Bank for Africa (UBA). She also has public sector experience having served as the Corporation Secretary at Business Registration Service.
In her capacity as a company secretary and accredited governance auditor, Debra has honed her skills in board advisory, board dynamics, board evaluations, board inductions, governance audits, and comprehensive board management training. She has lectured part-time on Advanced Company Secretarial and Corporate Governance and has served on various boards, including, Act Change Transform (ACT) Kenya, Youth Hub Africa, Precious Blood Secondary School Alumni Association (Chair), Precious Blood Secondary School (Vice – Chair) and BIMAS Microfinance, which has greatly enriched her practical perspective on corporate governance.
Recognized for her exceptional communication skills and ability to build strong relationships, Debra possesses a keen sense of risk assessment and business insight, enabling her to make astute judgments and provide practical, business-oriented solutions.
