TLG is now seeking a dynamic Marketing and Business Development Specialist to drive our growth and market presence. This role is crucial to expanding our reach and contributing to the success and growth of our organization.

  1. ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the Marketing and Business Development Specialist will be responsible for driving TLG’s growth and market presence by developing and implementing strategic marketing and business development initiatives that strengthen the organization’s brand, expand its reach, and foster meaningful client and stakeholder engagement.

 

  1. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies and campaigns to promote TLG’s programs and service offerings, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and enhancing market presence.
  • Conduct market research and analyse trends to identify new business opportunities and refine marketing approaches for maximum impact and relevance.
  • Oversee the marketing of TLG’s programs and services, creating targeted promotional materials and communication plans to attract and engage the right audience.
  • Lead brand management efforts by maintaining consistent messaging, enhancing brand recognition, and ensuring alignment with TLG’s values and vision.
  • Oversee social media activities, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement, to increase TLG’s online visibility and client interactions.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee events and special activities, ensuring their successful execution to enhance stakeholder engagement and promote TLG’s initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align marketing efforts with organizational objectives, ensuring cohesive and impactful promotional campaigns.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop winning proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and market demands to secure new business opportunities.
  • Design and implement client surveys, analysing feedback to improve service delivery and strengthen client relationships.
  • Prepare and manage the marketing and business development budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Provide leadership to the marketing and business development team, defining clear roles, offering guidance, and fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.

2. KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of seven years’ relevant experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role in Marketing, Business Development, Communication or Public Relations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration or any business related field from a recognised institution
  • Member of Marketing Society of Kenya or relevant professional body is desirable.

3. KEY COMPETENCIES & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Skilled in market research and analysis with a keen ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Proficient in in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), content marketing, social media, and email marketing to drive digital engagement and brand visibility.
  • Creative campaign strategist with a proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing initiatives.
  • Experienced in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Expertise in public relations, with strong skills in media engagement and brand management is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in graphic design with the ability to create visually compelling marketing materials.
  • Innovative and creative thinker.
